Rolex GMT Root Beer

ROLEX GMT-MASTER II

The Root Beer GMT-Master Rolex

Reference Numbers:

There have been multiple releases of the Rolex Root Beer over the years. The first release uses the reference number 1675/3. Subsequent releases of the Rolex Root Beer include references 16753, 16713, 126715CHNR and 126711CHNR. There are differing opinions on whether the last two references are true Root Beer Rolexes.

Production Years:

The 1675/3 was the first Rolex Root Beer, and it was launched in 1970. The 1675/3 would be in production until 1980 when it was replaced by the 16753. This reference would be in production until 1989 when it was replaced with the first Root Beer GMT-Master II. The 16713 GMT-Master II would be in production until 2006. The Root Beer was then discontinued. However, in 2018 Rolex introduced a black and brown GMT-Master II. While the colour combination differed from the classic Root Beer bezel, Rolex enthusiasts still dubbed the 126715CHNR and 126711CHNR as Root Beer Rolexes.

The Root Beer Rolex: Iconic Timepiece for
Collectors

The GMT-Master and GMT-Master II will always be sought after, but certain models attract more attention. In particular, Rolex buyers can’t help but love the soft drink-nicknamed models of the GMT-Master. The Pepsi and Coke are more traditional, but those looking for something a little more unique may appreciate the Rolex GMT Root Beer.

This beautiful timepiece utilizes a two-toned case and a brown and yellow bezel. This unexpected combination helps to set the Rolex Root Beer apart and makes for a fantastic addition to any collection.

  • Iconic brown and yellow bezel; black and brown for 126715CHNR and 126711CHNR
  • One or two-tone bracelets in steel and gold
  • Two time zones for GMT Master, three for the GMT Master II
  • Rolex calibre with automatic movement
  • Water-resistant to 100M
