Introduction and Launch: The Calibre 9002, introduced in 2023, a movement fully developed and produced by Rolex. An evolution of the Calibre 9001 that has powered Sky-Dwellers since its debut, it features the Chronergy escapement and an oscillating weight with an optimised ball bearing. Exclusive to the Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller, it is distinguished by its innovative annual calendar design, known as Saros. The functions of this highly complex movement are adjusted through the Ring Command system.

Certification:

The Calibre 9002 Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) certified and is Rolex Superlative Chronometer certified, which achieves a precision of −2/+2 seconds per day, a rate deviation that is much tighter than the standard set by COSC for certifying the movement alone

It features a 24-hour off-centre disc for reference time, making it easy to track a second time zone
