CALIBRE 4130

Introduction and Launch: Unveiled at Baselworld 2000, the Rolex calibre 4130 marked a new era for the Daytona, introducing an entirely in-house chronograph movement after a five-year development process. Replacing the Zenith-made calibre 4030, this state-of-the-art self-winding movement was designed to enhance reliability, ease of maintenance, and chronograph performance. The calibre 4130 features a column wheel and vertical clutch system, ensuring precise, smooth chronograph operation. By simplifying its construction and reducing the number of components, Rolex improved both efficiency and servicing, reinforcing its commitment to complete in-house watchmaking excellence.
