CALIBRE 3132

Introduction and Launch: The Rolex calibre 3132, introduced in 2010, is a self-winding movement found in the Explorer and Cellini Time, as a time-only, three-hand movement without a date function. During the rise of oversized watches in the 2010s, Rolex developed a series of larger movements, including the calibre 3132, which features a main plate 2.5 mm wider than standard, expanding its diameter to 30.97 mm from the usual 28.50 mm. While this increase is not widely documented, it is evident in the watches themselves. In models like the Datejust II, the larger movement accommodated a bigger date wheel, shifting the date display 1 mm further from the center.
