CALIBRE 3055

Introduction and Launch: The Rolex calibre 3055 is an automatic movement produced from 1977 to 1988, primarily used in the renowned “President” Day-Date model. As the fifth-generation movement for the Day-Date, it belonged to the Rolex 3000 movement family and was developed alongside the Oysterquartz calibre 5000 series, sharing several components. Notably, the calibre 3055 introduced the "quick-set" date feature, first seen in the Ref. 18026 in the late 1970s. It was phased out in 1988 and succeeded by the upgraded calibre 3155.
