Introduction and Launch: The Rolex calibre 1560, introduced in 1959, was used to power various Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Day-Date, Explorer, and Submariner models. As the first in the second generation of Rolex’s 1500 series movements, this 26-jewel, self-winding calibre featured the Rolex part number 7980 balance assembly with Microstella screws for precise regulation, along with a Breguet free-sprung hairspring, ensuring enhanced timekeeping accuracy and stability.
