The
Best New Watches

of 2024

The best watches of 2024 have proven that the world of horology is as dynamic as ever, with leading brands pushing boundaries while staying rooted in tradition.

From Rolex’s Daytona Le Mans, which celebrates a century of motorsport legacy with its bold design and cutting-edge movement, to Tudor’s Black Bay Chrono "Pink and Blue," offering a playful yet sophisticated twist on the classic chrono, the year’s releases have impressed with both style and substance. Vacheron Constantin’s Overseas Dual Time in pink gold brings a blend of luxurious elegance and versatility, while other standout models, including Omega’s new Speedmaster and Audemars Piguet’s daring collaborations, continue to elevate the standards of craftsmanship and innovation.

Whether you’re drawn to sport-inspired designs, intricate complications, or timeless elegance, 2024’s timepieces reflect the evolving tastes of watch collectors and enthusiasts alike, cementing this year as one of the most exciting in recent memory.

Rolex Daytona Le Mans

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rolex has unveiled a truly special edition of its legendary Daytona chronograph - a tribute to the motorsport heritage that has long been intertwined with the brand’s identity.

This limited-edition piece stands out with its refined yet sporty design, starting with the 40mm Oystersteel case that’s both robust and elegant. The sleek black ceramic bezel immediately catches the eye, and the addition of a red “100” marker gives a subtle but powerful nod to the centenary of one of the world’s most challenging endurance races.

The dial is a visual masterpiece, with a classic white lacquered backdrop and bold black subdials in the signature “panda” style, making it as legible as it is stylish.

What truly sets the Daytona Le Mans apart is its unique 24-hour chronograph scale, a first for the collection, adding both functionality and flair. Powered by the Rolex Caliber 4132 movement, it offers a 72-hour power reserve, blending exceptional precision with everyday reliability.

The Tudor Black Bay Chrono - Pink Dial

The release of the Tudor Black Bay "Pink" in March 2024 generated significant buzz in the watch world, captivating enthusiasts with its bold, fashion-forward take on the classic Black Bay design.

The soft pink dial, paired with the signature snowflake hands and a rotating bezel, offered a fresh twist on a beloved model, blending Tudor’s heritage with contemporary style.

Following the success of the Pink edition, Tudor has kept the momentum going with the Black Bay Chrono "Blue Dial," further expanding its colour palette and solidifying its reputation for pushing boundaries in watch design.

Tudor ambassador David Beckham was seen sporting the watch which only added fuel to the frenzy.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time

A truly beautiful timepiece released this year was the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time.

Designed with the modern traveler in mind, this exquisite 18K 5N pink gold timepiece combines elegance with practical functionality. The watch features a rose gold braclet and the green dial is enhanced by the addition of two exceptional strap options to elevate the overall experience.

The high-quality green calfskin strap, accented with crisp white stitching along the edges, offers a subtle contrast that enhances its casual yet refined appeal. In contrast, the green rubber strap features a textured surface, adding a sporty edge while ensuring maximum comfort on the wrist.

Its standout features include a dual time zone display, a convenient day-night indicator, and a date hand - ideal for those navigating across time zones. At its heart is a reliable self-winding movement, offering an impressive power reserve of nearly three days, ensuring consistent performance on extended journeys.

Tudor Pelagos FXD GMT

Our second entry on the list from Tudor. The brand, deeply intertwined with Rolex, has set such high standards that any surprise release instantly electrifies its dedicated collector base. The latest buzz? A GMT iteration of the Pelagos FXD.

Crafted from lightweight titanium, the watch boasts a streamlined profile, measuring 42mm in diameter and a mere 12.7mm in thickness. While the original Pelagos was developed in collaboration with the French Naval Special Forces as a dive watch, this new GMT model expands its utility to air and land operations - thanks to its added functionality. It can simultaneously track time in three distinct time zones, facilitated by a separate jumping hour GMT hand.

Striking a balance between unique appeal and everyday versatility, the Pelagos FXD GMT is a remarkable addition to Tudor’s lineup, ready to impress both enthusiasts and practical wearers alike.

Tag Heuer Formula 1 X Kith

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 x Kith collaboration masterfully blends Swiss watchmaking with modern lifestyle aesthetics.

The collection consists of 10 striking designs, such as the vibrant "Hawaii" model with a yellow Arnite case, green bezel, and blue pinstriped dial, alongside exclusives like the "Paris," featuring an eggshell dial and green bezel, and the "Los Angeles," with a white dial and blue bezel.

These compact 35mm watches, crafted from stainless steel, PVD-coated steel, or Arnite, maintain a sleek 9.45mm profile. Limited to between 250 and 1,350 pieces per model, the series also includes an ultra-exclusive box set of all 10 designs, limited to just 75 units.

The collaboration marks a significant milestone as the first integration of Kith's branding with TAG Heuer, reimagining the Formula 1's iconic heritage with a modern, vibrant touch. This partnership sets a promising precedent for future collaborations where fashion brands enhance base models of luxury timepieces, elevating them to a new level of sophistication and exclusivity.

Patek Philippe Cubitus

Patek Philippe’s Cubitus collection is a bold departure from the brand’s typically refined designs, ushering in a striking square case that challenges the status quo.

Drawing a parallel to the revered Nautilus, the Cubitus employs horizontal embossed dial stripes and contrasting case finishes, giving it a modern, almost industrial flair. It’s a design that pushes boundaries while still paying homage to Patek’s heritage of unique timepieces, joining the ranks of iconic shapes like the Golden Ellipse and Gondolo.

The collection debuts with three models, but it’s the Reference 5822P-001 in platinum that truly steals the show. Powered by the innovative Caliber 240 PS CI J LU, it integrates a large date, day, and moon phase indicators into a sleek and sophisticated display. The co-planar digit disks are a standout, adding a touch of modernity to the classic complications. With technical sophistication and bold style, the Cubitus is undoubtedly Patek Philippe’s most daring move in years.
