Oyster Perpetual

If you are looking to make your first foray into the world of Rolex, and ideally are looking for one that won’t break the bank, the Oyster Perpetual is an excellent choice. Often referred to as Rolex’s entry-level watch, it features the reliable water-resistant Oyster case and an elegant three-link Oyster bracelet. It also offers an automatic Perpetual movement and an appealing time-only dial.

Previously, the Oyster Perpetual was available in different materials, bezel varieties and bracelets, however now they are exclusively made with steel, and feature smooth bezels and Oyster bracelets.

Whilst a new model with a 28mm dial is currently priced at just over £4,500, you may be able to find pre-owned models with discontinued colour bracelets and dial options for around £3,500. Certain models, such as the discontinued 41mm Tiffany Blue Oyster Perpetual, may command slightly higher prices due to its scarcity.

The Oyster Perpetual is an ideal selection for any woman, due to its incomparable elegance and agelessness. It has been and will always be a timeless classic.

ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL
ROLEX DATEJUST

Datejust

An iconic watch choice that stands out in a crowd, the Datejust Rolex watch is just that. This classic style dates back decades, and its popularity shows no sign of waning.

First released in 1945, the Datejust Rolex watch was the first to display an automatic date display window near the 3 o’clock position. The cyclops lens magnifies the date window, so the date is easily readable. This style was revolutionary, and it soon became one of the most popular watch models in the Rolex family, as well as one of the most popular ladies watches.

Featuring a round face with a smooth bezel, the Datejust is an ideal everyday style option. The Datejust also offers plenty of customization options. You can choose from a number of sizes, colours, and materials like stainless steel, gold, and diamonds. It also has a perpetual self-winding mechanical movement, meaning you never have to worry about replacing a battery.

You can find pre-owned timepieces for under £5,000, depending on age and condition. Models are also available with diamond bezels, dials set with diamonds, and either a Jubilee or Oyster bracelet. Models such as these are also available on the pre-owned market for under £10,000, commanding a higher price for a brand new model.

Lady Datejust

A classic timepiece, designed for a lady.

This is how many describe the The Oyster Perpetual Lady–Datejust – a classic timepiece that perfectly embodies Rolex‘s pursuit of excellence. Built with the same technical proficiency and attention to detail that have made the brand‘s watches legendary, this timepiece is designed to meet the demands of female elegance and precision.

In 1957, Rolex introduced the Lady–Datejust to equal the success of the men‘s version of the watch, featuring a waterproof Oyster case, a self–winding movement, and a date display window at the 3 o‘clock position. These days, any metal option available in the Rolex catalogue can be applied to the Lady–Datejust, including Oystersteel, Everose gold, yellow gold, Platinum, and a blend of both stainless steel and gold (known as ‘Rolesor‘).

Furthermore, the Lady–Datejust can be found with a wide selection of bezel, bracelet and dial configurations – ranging from versions encrusted in diamonds to simple, all–steel models. Only the Lady-Datejust and the Datejust 31 offer the option for President bracelets and platinum references among the Datejust models.

New models are available for under £6,000 with pre-owned models from around the £4,000, depending on age and condition. Models embellished with diamonds, Mother of Pearl Dials set in yellow gold can run to tens of thousands of pounds for a brand new model.

Yacht-Master

In 1990, Rolex released the sports chronograph collection that was specifically designed for ladies. The timepieces featured oyster cases with 100–meter water resistance, bidirectional rotating time bezels that graduated to 60 minutes, and dials with a date window at the three o’clock location.

During the first twenty years of its history, the Yacht–Master collection had three size variants – 40mm, 35mm, and 29mm. The 35mm and 29mm were marketed towards women, and all the timepieces were fitted with an Oyster strap. There were various gem–set dials available – diamonds, rubies acting as indices, and sapphires, that customers could choose from. The watches were sold in full yellow gold, Rolesium, and two–tone yellow gold.

In 2015, Rolex upgraded the Yacht–Master collection, eliminating the 35mm and 29mm models and replacing them with the Yacht–Master 37.

New models start at just under £10,000, with pre-owned models around £7,000, depending on age and condition.

With so many options available, Rolex is the go to for luxury ladies watches. There are also various discontinued models that are available on pre-owned sites.
