Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega has taken the opportunity to introduce a new ladies’ collection to their timepiece catalogue, and it takes its name from the French word for “treasure”. The new Omega De Ville Trésor is presented in a number of sizes, a range of styles and a variety of case materials to ensure that all consumer needs and tastes are accounted for, and while all include diamonds, there are also stainless steel options to keep prices more reasonable. Staying true to other ladies’ watch collections from Omega, the 2017 De Ville Trésor is powered by the calibre 4061 quartz movement. This is to ensure that the watch in which it is housed can remain thin, narrow, quartz-accurate and easy to maintain. The movement provides the watch with a 48-month battery life and is finished with a “red Omega logo with rhodium plated parts and circular graining”, although this won’t be observed very often as it is behind a solid case back which has been laser-etched with a tasteful floral design.

The defining features of the Omega De Ville Trésor are undoubtedly the elongated Roman numeral hour markers and the slim hands, and other details such as the “liquid ceramic” flower on the crown with a diamond in the middle help to refine the watch’s aesthetics. Omega has said that the crown has been polished with “HyCeram” to make it more radiant. The round case is available in 39-mm (9.75-mm thick) or 36-mm (8.85-mm thick) editions in either polished steel or 18k Sedna gold with a range of dial colours. However, it appears that the Sedna gold version is only available in a 36-mm case. Some of the design elements on the new De Ville Trésor are reminiscent of those found on other popular ladies’ watches, such as the Piaget Limelight Gala, but the Omega offering comes in at a considerably lower price point.
