Baselworld 2018:
Omega De Ville Trésor

Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega took the opportunity to unveil an updated ladies’ collection at Baselworld 2018, with the new De Ville Trésor range offering a classic design with a truly contemporary edge.

De Ville Trésor

The Trésor name is taken from the French for “treasure”, a name that has been used by the brand since 1949. A total of 9 different models are available within the new collection. This includes cases made in stainless steel or 18K Sedna(tm) gold, both of which are available in 36mm or 39mm, and a choice of either a fabric or leather strap.

Additionally, there is a diverse range of dial colours available, including black, blue, taupe brown, white, blue, mother-of-pearl, and opaline silver. In each of these new models, diamond paving curves along each side of the case and single diamond is set within the elegant and eye-catching crown.

The crown itself is polished with red “HyCeram” for an impressive radiant look, and it includes a red liquid ceramic flower, a design that incorporates five Omega logos.

The eye-catching crown

The graceful aesthetics continue on the mirrored case back, which displays a floral design and houses the Omega calibre 4061, and, according to Omega: “While providing a useful accessory, the mirror is also about reflecting the natural charisma that each woman possesses.”

Staying true to other ladies’ watch collections from Omega, the 2018 De Ville Trésor is powered by the calibre 4061 quartz movement. This is to ensure that the watch in which it is housed can remain thin, narrow, quartz-accurate and easy to maintain. The movement provides the watch with a 48-month battery life and is finished with a “red Omega logo with rhodium plated parts and circular graining”.

The minimalist motif of the watch is completed by the elongated Roman numeral hour markers and the slim hands on the dial, both of which are complemented by a matching strap. Legibility of these features is enhanced by the domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that has also been treated with an anti-reflective material inside.
